Self-guided walking along GR651, variant of the Puy Route.

The Cele River runs across a peaceful, lush and large valley. It is a real paradise inhabited by men since the origins as seen through the great number of prehistoric remains and drawings that exist in the region. This is the ideal place for quiet holidays where hamlets, mills, rivers as well as vineyards, sunflowers or corn fields invite you to stroll.
Day 1
Arrival via Cahors. Transfer to Conques. Enjoy the afternoon to visit the historical city and abbey.
Day 2
Conques – Livinhac. 24km- 6h00 walk.
Conques is one of the nicest places of the via Podensis and is considered a jewel with its three tower basilica standing out of the pointed roofs. The Portal is an unforgettable real Roman treasure. The Way of Saint James leads to the Saint Roch chapel where the St James pilgrims can admire the Saint in pilgrim clothes
Day 3
Livinhac – Figeac. 25 km- 7h00 walk.
Decazeville is a coal mining city. In the past the Lot river enabled the transportation of coal on flat bottom boats to Bordeaux. Visit the roman St Felix Church in Montredon and finish your day in the beautiful city of Figeac where Champollion was born.
Day 4
Figeac- Espagnac Ste Eulalie – 25 km- 6 to 7 hour walk.
From rough plateau back down to the Cele Valley in Beduer, today's walk follows the river to the charming village of Espagnac Ste Eulalie where you will spend the night.
Day 5
Espagnac Ste Eulalie- Marcilhac sur Cele- Blars - 19 km- 5 to 6 hour walk.
Climb a plateau to the Tour des Anglais (English Tower) perched above the river. Continue to Saint Sulpice with its troglodyte houses, then Marcilhac with the ruins of a Benedictine Abbey ending your day in Blars.
Day 6
Marcilhac sur Cele- Cabrerets - 19 km 5 to 6 hour walk.
Dry stone walls line the path to Cabrerets. Traditions, architecture, arts and nature of the Quercy are all explained in the outside Museum in Cuzals.
Day 7
Cabrerets-St Cirq Lapopie- 11 km- 3 hour walk
After the visit of Prehistoric Pech Merle Cave, your walk runs above the Célé River. The Lot River is crossed in Bouziès on a suspended bridge, the walk continuing on the banks of the river on a path cut into the rock. Perched on its rock spur above the river, the beautiful village of St Cirq Lapopie is worth the visit. Dinner on your own.
Day 8
Saint Cirq Lapopie – Vers- 22 km 5h30 hour walk.
Part along the Lot River and part on a limestone plateau, today's path leads to Vers a village nestled on foot of the high limestone cliffs. 17h00 Taxi to Cahors and its famous vineyards.Night in Vers. Dinner included.
Option :Night in Vers in a 3*** star hotel + 1 more walk on day 9.

Vers-Cahors - 22 km 5h30 walk
